Circle Of Michelangelo Merisi Da Caravaggio, The Denial of Saint Peter sold for $48,400 (GBP35,300), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on July 2.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $49,700, realizing a 50% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2002 for $98,200 at Christie's.
