Christine Ay Tjoe, Lights for the Layer (2011) sold for $2.15m (SGD2.94m), more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in Singapore on January 18. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $417,300, a 24% rise.
