The personal collection of the late Jeanne-Marie de Broglie is due to be sold at Christie's Paris on 30 September. The sale highlights her discerning eye: she was instrumental in setting up the auction house's office in the French capital six decades ago.
The collection includes paintings, sculpture, ceramics, and decorative arts. Featured artists include Picasso, Jean Dubuffet, Claude Lalanne, Diego Giacometti, Chagall, David Hockney and Dorothea Tanning.
The late French aristocrat's Degas and Delacroix are also heading to auction.
De Broglie's collection reflects her connections within the art world, notably with dealer Daniel Cordier, the member of the French Resistance, secretary to Jean Moulin, who became a major dealer and collector after World War II.
