Childe Hassam, Central Park (1890), sold for $1.91m, less than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 19.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $2.19m, realizing a 53% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1998 for $4.1m at Christie's.
