Charles Blackman Work Sells for $26,500 to Deliver a 3% Annualized Return

Charles Blackman, Cat in Garden (1970), sold for $26,500 (AUD36,900), more than three times the low estimate at Bonhams in Sydney on August 24.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $16,600, equivalent to an annualized return of 3%. It last sold at auction in 2000 for $9,871 at Christie's.
