Cecily Brown, Things Could Be Different, But They're Not (2007) sold for $1.16m (GBP907,200), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $953,100, equivalent to an annualized return of 10%. It last sold at auction in 2007 for $210,000 at Phillips de Pury.
