Carroll Dunham, Bathers Seventeen (Black Hole) (2011) sold for $762,000, more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 15. The mixed media on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $171,000, a 28% rise.
