Bonhams will present its inaugural Asia Week New York from March 23 to 25 at its New York flagship, located at Steinway Hall, 111 West 57th Street. The event encompasses six live auctions dedicated to various categories of Asian art.
The sales program covers Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Himalayan, and Southeast Asian art. Offerings will span a range of mediums including ceramics, porcelain, painting, calligraphy, prints, sculpture, bronzes, thangkas, jade, agate, wood, and enamel, alongside specialized collections of snuff bottles and netsuke.
Works by artists such as Zhang Daqian, Gu Yuan, Hu Zhengyan, Faizullah, Park Soo Keun, Katsushika Hokusai, Yi Taek-Gyun, Tametaka, Unjūtō Shumemaru, Masano of Kyoto, and Tanaka Minkō are scheduled for auction. The collections draw connections to institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Palace Museum, Taipei, and the Avery Brundage Collection at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.
