Bonhams has announced the successful conclusion of 'The Cannon Collection' auction, which took place in two parts during April 2026. Part I of the sale concluded on April 15, with Part II running from April 6 to April 16. The auction was conducted at Bonhams New Bond Street and accessible online, drawing interest for its comprehensive range of material from a single private collection.
The collection demonstrated a broad scope of collecting, featuring 19th-century and Modern British paintings, a selection of antiquities, and early English glass. Highlights among the paintings included works by Philip Alexius de László, Hilda Fearon, and Ken Howard. The glass section showcased examples from the Beilby family workshop and pieces attributed to James Giles.
Further diversity within 'The Cannon Collection' was evident with works by sculptor Philip Jackson and items associated with Frederick Sage & Company. The auction results affirm continued market demand for expertly curated collections that span historical periods and artistic disciplines.
