Bernardo Bellotto, Venice, The Grand Canal looking North from the Rialto Bridge sold for $1.59m (GBP1.21m), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on December 2.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $1.15m, realizing a 41% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2017 for $2.75m at Sotheby's.
