Berggruen Arts & Culture has initiated a series of exhibitions at Palazzo Diedo in Venice, commencing May 4, 2026. The program is anchored by 'Strange Rules,' an expansive exhibition delving into the intersections of artificial intelligence, technology, and biology, presented through the lens of 'Protocol Art.' This opening coincides with 'Unfinished,' a presentation by Ceal Floyer, and a dedicated exhibition featuring works by Joseph Kosuth. These exhibitions collectively span a significant period in Venice, with 'Strange Rules' and the Joseph Kosuth presentation running primarily until November 22, 2026.
'Strange Rules' at Palazzo Diedo explores contemporary artistic responses to algorithmic culture and biological systems. Featured artists include Mat Dryhurst, Holly Herndon, Philippe Parreno, Trevor Paglen, Avery Singer, Hito Steyerl, and Lynn Hershman Leeson, among others, drawn from a comprehensive roster of over 30 artists. The exhibition incorporates a range of media, from digital art and video to sound installations and performance, reflecting its focus on 'Protocol Art'.
Concurrent to 'Strange Rules,' Palazzo Diedo hosts 'Unfinished' by Ceal Floyer, which will be on view on select dates including May 5-7, 9, July 17-August 2, September 2-12, and October 10-24, 2026. A separate exhibition by conceptual artist Joseph Kosuth is also presented. The programming aligns with the broader art calendar in Venice, running during the period of La Biennale Arte 2026 and Le Stanze della Fotografia 2026.
