Barbara Hepworth Work Sells for $1.16m to Deliver a 4% Annualized Return

Barbara Hepworth, Shaft and Circle (1972), sold for $1.16m (GBP881,000), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on October 14.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $505,200, equivalent to an annualized return of 4%. It last sold at auction in 2013 for $659,700 at Sotheby's.

Irish marble. The work has been traded twice in the past.
