Wolf Kahn, Pink Light on the Sea (1999) sold for $298,900, more than three and a half times the low estimate at Bonhams in New York on May 1. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $86,500, a 40% increase.
