Sally Gabori's auction record jumps 250%

Sally Gabori, Dibirdibi Country (2012) sold for $95,200, more than twice the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 14. The synthetic polymer paint on linen work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $69,700, a 250% rise.

The previous record was set by Dibirdibi Country (2009), which sold for $25,500 at Bonhams on March 24, 2013. The work had not been traded before.
