Perle Fine, Autumn in the Air (1958) sold for $57,600, more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on September 27. The oil and foil collage on canvas work has been traded once in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $7,200, a 14% rise.
