Louai Kayali's Auction Record Jumps 75%

Louai Kayali, Fisherboy (1976) sold for $341,200, more than five times the low estimate at Bonhams in London on June 5. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $146,700, a 75% rise.

The previous record was set by Fisherman in Arwad (1976), which sold for $194,500 at Christie's on October 25, 2011.
