Jean Mannheim, The Fairy Tale (Jeanne and Eunie Mannheim Reading in the Garden) (1910) sold for $95,800, more than three times the low estimate at Bonhams in Los Angeles on August 6. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $20,800, a 27% rise.

The previous record was set by Reminiscence (Undated), which sold for $75,000 at John Moran Auctioneers on February 18, 2003.
