Howard Mehring, In the Key of Blue (1965) sold for $78,000, more than three and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's, Online on July 16. The acrylic on canvas work has not been traded before.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $25,500, a 48% rise.
