Hilding Werner, Landscape at Twilight near Glafsfjorden-Värmland (1908) sold for $31,200, more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 22. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $3,557, a 12% rise.
