Florine Stettheimer, Tulips Under a Canopy (1925) sold for $1.03m, more than five times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on April 18. The oil on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $658,200, a 175% rise.
