Diane Arbus, Identical twins, (Cathleen and Colleen), Roselle, New Jersey, 1966 (1967) sold for $1.2m, more than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 14. The gelatin silver print, a gift to fellow artist Ikko Narahara, has been traded 6 times in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $189,000, a 18% rise.
