Attributed To Robert Home, Portrait of a young man, possibly a member of the Home family, in uniform, holding a brush with his pans of watercolour and a folio before him (Undated) sold for $64,400 (GBP48,600), more than 16 times the low estimate at Bonhams on October 2. The oil on canvas work has not been traded before.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $3,649, a 6% rise.
