Andy Warhol And Jean-Michel Basquiat, Untitled (1984) sold for $19.37m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 13. The acrylic, silkscreen ink and oilstick on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.
The sale beat the artists' previous auction record by $8m, a 70% rise.
