ARoS has announced the acquisition of Philippe Parreno's installation, Marquee, for its permanent collection. The work is scheduled to go on display from 28 November 2026. Separately, another work by Parreno is currently included in ARoS's Step Inside exhibition, which features artists such as Anicka Yi, Pamela Rosenkranz, and Laure Prouvost, and runs until 9 August 2026.

Marquee, an installation and light sculpture, exemplifies Parreno's practice of constructing immersive experiences that challenge perceptions of space and time. This acquisition reinforces ARoS's collection holdings in contemporary installation and light art.

Funding for the acquisition was provided by the New Carlsberg Foundation and the Augustinus Foundation. Rebecca Matthews, Director of ARoS, acknowledged the importance of integrating a significant work by Parreno into the museum's collection.
