Arnold Friberg, In the Waters of Manitou (1983) sold for $126,000, more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in New York on January 23. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $32,400, a 34% rise.

The previous record was set by Uncertain odds (Undated), which sold for $93,600 at Jackson Hole Art Auction on September 15, 2017.
