Anselm Kiefer Work Sells for $189,700 to Deliver a 2% Annualized Return

Anselm Kiefer, Urd, Werdandi, Skuld (1979), sold for $189,700 (GBP141,900), more than the low estimate at Phillips in London on March 7.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $102,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 2%. It last sold at auction in 1999 for $87,700 at Ketterer Kunst.

Oil, shellac, sand and pigment on canvas, 330.5 x 185.4cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
