Anicka Yi, Counterfactual Imagination (2019) sold for $83,200, more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on October 1. The kelp, acrylic, LEDs and animatronic moths work has been traded once in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $48,200, a 125% rise.
