Andy Warhol Work Sells for $64,500 to Deliver a 18% Annualized Return

Andy Warhol, Nine Polaroids: Bianca Jagger; Uncle Sam; Muhammad Ali; Dennis Hopper; Self-Portrait in Fright Wig; Grace Jones; Jack Nicholson; Ladies and Gentlemen (Marsha P. Johnson); The American Indian (Russell Means) (1971) sold for $64,500, more than the low estimate at Phillips in New York on October 9.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $57,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 18%. It last sold at auction in 2012 for $7,500 at Christie's.
