Andy Warhol, Four Marilyns (Reversal Series) (1986), sold for $4.37m (GBP3.26m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 4.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $3.9m, equivalent to an annualized return of 10%. It last sold at auction in 2004 for $472,900 at Sotheby's.

Acrylic and silkscreen ink on canvas, 91.5 x 71.0cm. The work has been traded 7 times in the past.
