Andre Lhote Work Sells for $94,500 to Deliver a 7% Annualized Return

Andre Lhote, Orphée ou Eloge de la poésie (1935) sold for $94,500, more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 13.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $90,800, equivalent to an annualized return of 7%. It last sold at auction in 1979 for $3,688 at Ferri.

Gouache on paper laid down on canvas, 79.6 x 114.6cm. The work has been traded once in the past.
