Joe Lewis's Modigliani Nude Sells for $63.91m to Deliver a 5% Annualized Return

Amedeo Modigliani, Nu assis au collier (1917), sold for $63.91m (GBP48.23m), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on June 24.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $51.47m, equivalent to an annualized return of 5%. It last sold at auction in 1995 for $12.43m at Christie's.

Oil on canvas, 91.5 x 59.7cm. The work has been traded 12 times in the past.
