Amedeo Modigliani Work Sells for $762,000 to Deliver a 6% Annualized Return

Amedeo Modigliani, L'Incisore Weill (The Engraver Weill) (1909) sold for $762,000, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 14.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $739,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 1967 for $23,000 at Sotheby's.
