Amanda Wall is former model slash creative director who is now in the spotlight as an artist as her close-up and personal portraits of body conscious women prove seductive to collectors.
Amanda Wall's HENI Score—a unique artist sentiment index—has soared by 177% over the past three months due to high-profile exhibitions and auction results. Her status as a poster child for ultra-contemporary female artists was underscored by a profile in Interview Magazine.
Recently, the LA-based artist's painting Empty (2020) sold for $30,500 at Christie's Online, more than double its low estimate. However, another signature work, Long Distance (2020), sold for $7,000, its low estimate at Phillips.
Amine Rech has presented solo shows of her sassy, fashion-conscious portraits in its London and New York spaces recently. The women she portrays have been described as the archetypal "hot girl", typically posing in an awkward way as if for a selfie. Wall often poses with her I-phone to come up with the unusual angles in her compositions.
Wall told Interview Magazine: "There’s no sex act happening in the paintings…You see asses, but that’s a universal thing."

"'How I got into painting was really a zero-to-60 feeling. I was alone in my apartment making paintings and then suddenly I was on the art scene and I had to learn how to paint very quickly.' "
