Alvaro Barrington's Auction Record Jumps 16%

Alvaro Barrington, Black Power (2021) sold for $89,500 (GBP69,300), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 6. The oil and acrylic on burlap, in artist's wooden frame, steel oil drum, shelf and metal chains work has not been traded before.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $12,700, a 16% rise.
