Alexej Jawlensky, Kind mit gefalteten Händen (Child with Folded Hands) (1909), sold for $443,700 (GBP332,800), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $38,100, equivalent to an annualized return of 0.5%. It last sold at auction in 2009 for $405,600 at Christie's.
