The Albertina Museum in Vienna presents a psychologically charged head-to-head of works by Picasso and Francis Bacon in the fall.

The exhibition brings together works by the two artists to explore their reinvention of the human body and challenge to traditional figurative representation.

The co-founder of Cubism fragmented and distorted the human form to convey multiple perspectives and emotional states while Bacon is best known for his intense, often isolated figures that reflected the anxieties and vulnerabilities of the postwar era.

Picasso – Bacon: What It Feels Like to Be Human opens September 18 and runs until January 31, 2027.
