Albert Marquet Work Sells for $185,000 to Deliver a 4% Annualized Return

Albert Marquet, La Frette towards Paris, the Tugboat, sold for $185,000 (EUR159,100), more than two and a half times the low estimate at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris on June 3.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $163,300, equivalent to an annualized return of 4%. It last sold at auction in 1981 for $21,700 at Christie's.

Oil on canvas, 50.0 x 61.0cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
