Adrien Jean le Mayeur, Balinese women weaving in the garden, Sanur, Bali (1954), sold for $779,800 (HKD6.1m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on March 27.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $607,600, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 2000 for $172,200 at Christie's.
