Adolphe Appian, Lake Bourget near Châtillon (1866) sold for $35,400 (EUR30,700), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in Paris on June 9. The Oil on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $7,498, a 26% rise.
