Brian Clarke’s ‘Canterbury Tales’ (G2-21, 2018), a stained glass folding screen, constitutes an intellectual consideration on the history and heritage of stained glass, often associated with the Middle Ages. Innovatively removing lead cames from the construction of the screen, Clarke alludes to them nonetheless through the imagery, juxtaposing his own technique and language with historical ones.
