Brian Clarke’s stained glass folding screen ‘Floating Ideas’ (G2-15, 2018) displays 37 pages of the artist’s favourite poems scattered over a sea of transparent blue. Imitating the optical effect of light refracting over water, or even suggesting biomorphic elements such as magnified cells, this work reflects Clarke’s fascination for natural forms.
