**HENI and Newport Street Gallery are delighted to present *The Currency* *Exhibition* by Damien Hirst.**

The exhibition is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, 23 September - 30 October 2022. 

*The Currency*, launched in July 2021, is a collection of 10,000 NFTs which correspond with 10,000 original artworks by Damien Hirst. Collectors were given the choice to either keep the NFT or exchange it for the physical artwork. 

Every choice made – to keep the NFT, or keep the painting – had consequences. Collectors that chose to claim a physical artwork had to burn their NFT to do so. Similarly, those who chose to keep their NFT did so knowing that the physical artwork would then be destroyed. The exchange period closed on 27 July 2022 resulting in just over half the collectors (5,149) deciding to keep the physical artwork, and 4,851 to keep the NFT.

*The Currency* *Exhibition*  features all 10,000 artworks from *The Currency* with the 4,851 physical artworks that collectors chose to keep as NFTs being burnt gradually throughout the course of the exhibition.

During Frieze Week, Damien Hirst commences the burn by burning his own physical artworks. Following this event, the exhibition remains open and artworks continue to be burned until the show closes on 30 October 2022.

Burning of the remaining physical *The Currency* works happens on a daily basis between 12:30-1:30 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday. Visitors are invited to come to see the exhibition and physical artworks being burnt.

***Street to Canvas*, a solo exhibition of paintings by the internationally renowned graffiti artist MadC, will go on show at HENI Gallery in Soho, opening on 18 November 2021. **

The exhibition includes 20 paintings on canvas made over the last year. The largest work in the show, which measures 4.5 meters wide, is an explosive and immersive painting that bridges the public and private aspects of MadC’s practice. 

Through her canvas-bound studio paintings MadC breathes new life into the storied history of abstraction. Defined by declarative mark-making and layered, vibrant colours, her translucent gestures interact with each other to create their own internal space and kinetic figure-ground relationships. MadC’s canvas painting practice is undeniably rooted in graffiti art and culture, thus transporting the explosive energy and visual language of street art into HENI Gallery.

** Applications for 'Paper Veils', a series of 300 striking oil paintings on card by Damien Hirst, are now open on HENI Primary. **

The 'Paper Veils' are a series of original paintings on paper, created by Damien Hirst between 2018 and 2019, in two different sizes.  Applications are open for a limited time, closing at **5 p.m. GMT on 6 December 2022**. Each application will be reviewed individually, and a manual allocation will take place to ensure a fair and broad distribution.  

'Paper Veils' pares down the vast canvases of Hirst’s 'Veil Paintings' (2017), immersing viewers in their world of striking colour and sensuous artistic gesture on an intimate scale. Thick, clustered and colourful brushstrokes are organised into painted constellations forming seemingly infinite layers, which – like a veil – appear to both reveal and obscure.

**The series features 100 large works (84.2 x 59.6cm) and 200 smaller works (59.5 x 42cm). The large and smaller works are priced at US $45,000 and US $25,000 respectively, plus any applicable taxes. **

This release also marks the launch of HENI Primary, a new online platform built specifically for primary-market releases of original artworks. HENI Primary enables artists to release original works of art on a dedicated digital platform, bringing the traditional fine-art experience online. 


All works from Damien Hirst’s 'Paper Veils' series will be on view at HENI Gallery, 1st Floor, 6-10 Lexington St, Soho, London, from 16 November 2022. The HENI Gallery will be open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily during the application period.

Situated in the heart of Soho, London, Brian Clarke’s 2015 *Spitfires* installation of large stained-glass panels illuminates part of HENI Gallery. Visible from the street, the installation is considered to be one of the most significant interventions of stained glass in an urban environment.
