This playful new publication celebrates Sunshine (Complex Relationships Explained Simply), the exhibition by Damien Hirst that ran at Claridge’s ArtSpace from October to December 2021, bringing together a group of works shown collectively for the first time.
The book features high-resolution images of every work included in the exhibition, from Hirst’s iconic pipe cleaner animals – designed to evoke a child-like sense of joy and wonder – to his bold, oversized colour charts, which serve as sculptural homages to the charts from Hirst’s own collection borne out of his long-standing fascination with colour systems.
Perfect for seasoned collectors and newcomers alike, the publication offers a joyful entry point into a collection that – filled with whimsical forms and vibrant colours – disarms the often-analytical gaze of the art world and encourages viewers to reconnect with the simple joy of looking.
