Maria Luisa Pacheco Auction Record Jumps 21%

Maria Luisa Pacheco, Kinesis (1975) sold for $69,300, more than three times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on October 2. The oil and sand on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $12,200, a 21% rise.

The previous record was set by Morro (1979), which sold for $57,100 at Sotheby's on May 14, 2024. The work had been traded once in the past.
