Adham Ismail's Auction Record Jumps 54%

Adham Ismail, The Blind Man and the Crow (1960) sold for $40,900, more than four and a half times the low estimate at Bonhams in London on June 5. The acrylic on canvas work has not been traded before.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $14,500, a 54% rise.

The previous record was set by Untitled (1960), which sold for $26,400 at Ayyam Auctions on May 12, 2015.
