Known for creating monumental murals on streets across the world, in Color Rhythms MadC brings graffiti’s raw energy into the studio. In her works, vibrant and electrifying paint sprays, drips and scrapes across the canvases. Within the same dynamic composition, mesmerising waterfalls of colour meet transparent geometric forms, and fierce, calligraphic swipes of the brush.
MadC employs a gestural, fast-moving abstract language that captures the vibrancy of urban spaces. The artist develops her compositions by working in layers, using tools such as spray cans, brushes and spatulas to create varying effects in paint and build tactile surfaces. This immediacy invites viewers to engage with both the process of its making and the finished piece.
The new collection of works is inspired by the artist’s NFT collection Color Rhythms, released together with HENI in 2022. 1,000 unique NFTs were made by applying machine learning to her characteristically expressive canvas paintings.
