Troubled Waters
HENI is delighted to release Troubled Waters, a limited-edition print by Shepard Fairey, Damien Hirst and Invader. The print is based on an original painting by all three artists that was recently on view at the Triple Trouble exhibition at Newport Street Gallery.
Troubled Waters is a Diasec-mounted Giclée print on aluminium composite panel and measures 100 x 145.5 cm. The edition size is limited to 200 (+ 30 APs). Each print is numbered and hand-signed by all three artists on the label.
The print is available by application until 17:00 BST on 14 September 2026.
About Troubled Waters
In Troubled Waters, Fairey’s tiled papers rigorously blend painterly backgrounds with graphic patterns, and are overlaid with Hirst’s iconic Spot Painting motif of colourful spots organised into a precise grid. These passages are offset by Invader’s pixelated interpretation of Katsushika Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa, with his signature Space Invader figure seemingly surfing the wave.

Damien decided to assemble them to create a large-format canvas, onto which he overlaid his iconic coloured spots. Finally, I added an Invader surfing a pixelated wave, which inspired the title. About the artists
Shepard Fairey
Shepard Fairey is a contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist and founder of OBEY Clothing and creative agency Studio Number One. In 1989 while at Rhode Island School of Design studying for his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, Shepard Fairey created the Andre the Giant has a Posse sticker that later evolved into the OBEY GIANT art campaign. In 2008, his portrait of then-Democratic candidate Barack Obama became an internationally recognised emblem of hope. He is known for the 'We The People' campaign recognised during the 2017 Women’s Marches worldwide. Fairey has painted nearly 140 public murals and has become one of the most sought-after and provocative artists globally, changing the way people converse about art and view the urban landscape.
Damien Hirst
Damien Hirst is a British artist whose name has become synonymous with contemporary art. Since his generative work as a student at Goldsmiths School of Art, Hirst's production has been boundary−redefining in nature. Working primarily in installation, painting, sculpture and drawing, Hirst explores the complex relationships between art, beauty, religion, science, life and death. He constantly returns to his foundational interests and themes, which he reworks to develop an innovative visual language.
Invader
The elusive street artist Invader uses his now ubiquitous pixelated characters to unpretentiously bring art to the masses. Self-described as an Unidentified Free Artist (UFA) whose identity is perennially hidden behind masks and digital pixelations, his pseudonym reflects his artistic practice – to invade (often illegally) spaces with viral art since 1998. The nearly 90 territories he has invaded include the International Space Station, the seabed off the coast of Cancún and a remote city located at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level where he installed his 4,000th mosaic in 2021. The discovery of a mosaic by Invader has become akin to an international treasure hunt for the 482,000 players of ‘Flashinvaders’, the free app he has developed. In a span of 30 years, Invader expanded his practice into new media, delving into Rubik’s Cube sculptures in his Rubikcubist series, and producing installations, films and acclaimed exhibitions in galleries and museums worldwide.

Troubled Waters is a Diasec-mounted Giclée print on aluminium composite panel and measures 100 x 145.5 cm. The work is priced at $5,000 (plus applicable taxes) and the edition size is limited to 200 (+ 30 APs). Each print is numbered and hand-signed by all three artists on the label.
You can complete your application for Troubled Waters on a computer or mobile device, after which you will receive a confirmation email detailing each of the editions you applied for. After the allocation period, if your application is successful, you will be sent an order confirmation once payment has been successfully taken.

As Troubled Waters is a limited-edition release, HENI tries to ensure that the prints are sold broadly and fairly (rather than on a ‘first come, first served’ basis). You can apply for multiple artworks from Troubled Waters, however, HENI cannot guarantee that you will be offered the opportunity to buy every print you apply for.
During the application process you are provided with the options to “Accept partial fulfilment” or “Only accept full fulfilment”
If you select the “Only accept full fulfilment” option during the application process, HENI will only satisfy your application if we are able to fulfil your entire application.
If you select the “Accept partial fulfilment” option, HENI may offer you the opportunity to purchase some of the editions you applied for, but not all. Choosing “Accept partial fulfilment” may increase your chances of being successfully allocated.

Troubled Waters is priced in US Dollars and can be purchased using credit or debit card. Please ensure when submitting your payment details that you enter the correct billing post/zip code information for the payment card you are using.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide your card details. Each application will be reviewed carefully, and HENI expects to begin contacting successful applicants in the weeks following the close of the application period. Payment will only be taken once your application has been confirmed as successful. HENI will first attempt to process payment using the card details provided at the time of application. If the payment is unsuccessful, you will receive an email containing a custom payment link to complete the transaction. Payment must be completed within 48 hours of that email being sent, otherwise the allocation will be withdrawn.
Troubled Waters does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity. The edition numbers for each of the works are randomly allocated and cannot be chosen. As with all our drops, the APs are not for sale.
Troubled Waters is on display at the HENI Gallery for the duration of the drop. Admission to the gallery is free, with no appointment required.

To ensure efficient delivery of our editions HENI ships exclusively through our trusted courier partners. Therefore, we are unable to facilitate in-person collection or organise independent shipping.
Troubled Waters will be shipped from the UK and can be shipped internationally. The prices indicated are exclusive of VAT, delivery charges, insurance or any customs or import duties or local taxes that may be payable. For orders shipping to the UK, Standard Rate VAT will be applied and collected at the time of payment.
If your shipping address is outside of the UK, you will be responsible for any customs or import duties and local taxes that may be payable. Where such duties or taxes are payable in respect to any works ordered, HENI does not collect and pay them on your behalf. You are responsible for paying any amounts due directly to the applicable customs authority. HENI is not able to offer any guidance on customs or import duties or local taxes, and we recommend that you contact your local customs office for details.
