Alberto Giacometti’s painting ‘Bust of Annette’, produced in 1954, depicts the striking image of his wife Annette Arm. Transformed into a series of prints in 2016 by HENI in collaboration with The Estate of Alberto Giacometti, Giacometti translated Annette’s features into a dreamlike figuration, composed of thick lines fluctuating over the dull background. The colour palette is dark, with isolated black and white strokes that model her face. Her eyes are wide open, and her gaze is seemingly fixated outside the canvas, confronting viewers.
