The American Dream print release features 12 prints, each offered as a larger signed limited edition and a smaller unsigned edition. The works are based on recent paintings which merge Eminem’s era-defining discography with Hirst’s iconic Spin Paintings.
Hirst first reimagined Eminem’s 12-album discography in 2022 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Interscope Records. Hirst and Eminem developed their vision for these album covers further in a collection of original paintings. Still utilising Hirst’s Spin Paintings, the chance colour interactions and dynamic compositions of these works reveal unique and never-before-seen variations on the album designs. The American Dream prints are based on the original paintings.
The signed limited editions are available by application, and you pay only if you are allocated a print. The unsigned editions are available to purchase immediately and you pay at checkout. If you choose both, you’ll submit your application and complete your purchase during the same checkout process.
The signed limited editions measure 94.5 x 94.5 cm. The edition size for each print is limited to 60 (+ 15 APs) and all works are numbered and hand-signed by both artists on the label.
The unsigned editions measure 31.5 x 31.5 cm. The number of editions will be limited by demand during the release. All works are numbered on the label.
All works are UV Giclée direct prints on aluminium composite panel.
Damien Hirst
Damien Hirst is a British artist whose name has become synonymous with contemporary art. Since his generative work as a student at Goldsmiths School of Art, Hirst's production has been boundary−redefining in nature. Working primarily in installation, painting, sculpture and drawing, Hirst explores the complex relationships between art, beauty, religion, science, life and death. He constantly returns to his foundational interests and themes, which he reworks to develop an innovative visual language.
Eminem
Over the course of his career, Eminem has sold over 164 million albums and has over 110 billion streams globally. He was Nielsen SoundScan’s top-selling artist of the 2000s with 32.2 million albums sold in that decade in the U.S. alone. In addition, Eminem was also named Billboard’s Artist of the Decade for the same period, 2000 through 2009. Eminem has won 15 GRAMMY® Awards and an Academy Award®. His 2010 album, Recovery, was the first album in the U.S. to be certified platinum digitally. In March 2021 his greatest hits album, Curtain Call: The Hits, became the first hip-hop album to spend a full decade on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. His latest album, The Death of Slim Shady, was released July 12, 2024 and was his eleventh straight studio album to debut at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 281,000 units. Eminem is now the only rapper to have released a platinum certified album in four different decades (90s, 00s, 10s, 20s).
